Pickles.....Go figure!

My son Brody won't eat anything solid and he is almost 10 1/2 months. According to his doctor it isn't a big concern, but I have read that learning to feed oneself is an important milestone. All kids are on their own pace though so I'm not tooooooooo worried. I have tried so many different things: gerber puffs (banana and sweet potatoe), cheerios, noodles, baby food with meat, etc. Tonight I was eating a pickle and Brody came up to me like he wanted some so I let him try it, and he kept coming back for more. He made some pretty interesting faces, but he seem to like it. My child is a one of a kind, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I guess that is one point for pickles......what will we try next? Any ideas?

The joys of shopping!

Today my super talented son tried to escape from the shopping cart at Target! This was his first attempt and I know now that it will be a battle to keep him seated. Once they can discover they can do something, there is no stopping them. What an incredible memory children have! It is just so funny that when I think I have things figured out, things change again! Am I the only one that feels that way? I look at so many women with kids that seem to have everything figured out........is that just a mirage or are some of us just a little more challenged when it comes knowing the ends and outs of parenthood?
